Help Brian get to Mars
Brian Shiro, an astronaut hopeful who made it through several rounds during NASA’s most recent selection process, is going to Mars. Well, sorta.
Brian has been selected as a crewmember for the Mars Society’s next pseudo-Mars expedition to the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (FMARS). It’s on Devon Island in the Antarctic, where NASA has tested lunar rovers, and Mars research projects are often held.

Brian Shiro: Going to Mars...sorta
Here’s the pitch
While Brian has been selected as a member of the 6-person crew, he needs a few dollars to cover his expenses. He’s set up a Chip-In account where, if you’re feeling generous, you can contribute to his “Mars” fund. (scroll down on this page to see it.)
Personally, I’m hoping this is a warmup for Brian. Maybe he’ll get selected by NASA next time, and go on a real expedition to the red planet.
