We’ll finally see SpaceShipTwo on Monday
Virgin Galactic is set to show its sub-orbital tourist spacecraft on Monday. There shouldn’t be too many surprises—the design of SpaceShipTwo is all over the company’s website.
The “mothership”, WhiteKnightTwo, has already flown a couple of test flights publicly. But WhiteKnightTwo two won’t be going into space—SpaceShipTwo will. The spacecraft will carry two pilots and six passengers to about 62 miles altitude.
Passengers currently are expected to pay $200,000 for the experience. Considering that only a few hundred people have ever been into space, it seems pretty reasonable to me. Of course, if Richard Branson wants to invite a blogger-journalist for a free trip…well, I wouldn’t object. Wink!
