Sure, maybe water on Mars, but the moon?!
We’ve been seeing more and more information about water on Mars in recent times…but water on the moon?!
Three spacecraft seem to have detected evidence of it…or at least something like it.
Hydroxyl, which has one hydrogen and one oxygen atom (water has TWO hydrogen atoms) has been spotted by three separate space vehicles studying the moon. Reportedly, the Apollo lunar samples showed signs of water. But scientists examining the samples at that time assumed that evidence of water was “contamination”…not actual lunar material.
Now, it appears they may have been wrong.
Furthermore, scientists now consider it possible that, in certain locations, there may actually be liquid water on the lunar surface. Shadowed craters near the lunar poles may have conditions to make this possible.
