Romania’s quixotic moonship scheduled for test on Thursday
Maybe I’ll be proved wrong—I’d be thrilled if that happened—but I can’t help but be skeptical about ARCA‘s scheduled attempt to win the Google Lunar X-Prize. Romania’s space agency says it plans to make a test flight into suborbital space on Thursday, weather permitting.
From ARCA’s website:
The first launch attempt of Helen vehicle will take place starting with October 29 from the Black Sea, depending on weather. The requested conditions: cloud coverage max. 20% and sea level wind speed max. 5m/s.
