“Colbert” beats “Serenity” in ISS node naming contest

ISS node 3: Colbert or not?
Comedian Stephen Colbert won as write-in candidate to have the new International Space Station section (currently called “Node 3″) named after him.
Not NASA’s choice
In second place was the name “Serenity”. The choice of the name “Colbert”, however, probably has people at NASA feeling less than serene. The contest is not binding, however, and NASA may decide that the name “Colbert” doesn’t fit well with the other module names: “Unity”, “Harmony” and “Destiny”.
NASA spokesperson John Yembrick suggested that although “Colbert” beat its nearest competitor by more than 15,000 votes, the module may be given a different name.
