I don’t know for sure if this much is true…but there’s a report that the band Spandau Ballet will perform on a Virgin Galactic flight in 2012. My sources are blogs…and I don’t know what their sources are…so this is possible, but uncertain.
First band to perform in space?
In any case, one lucky passenger should be able to see the band peform live right next to him (or her). That’s because there’s only 8 seats, two of which will be occupied by pilots. The band will fill up the remaining seats except one.
The set will be a short one. SpaceShipTwo, the craft that will be carrying the people into sub-orbital space, will only be up there for a few minutes. Maybe they can get one song out.
For $200,000 a seat, it better be good…
