A Chinese first? Taikonaut ate dog in space.

Laika, the Russian space dog: Flown, not eaten.

The Soviets sent dogs (Laika, Belka, Strelka) into space. The Chinese ate dogs in space.

Yep. In his autobiography, the pilot of the first manned Chinese spaceflight, Yang Liwei, listed the menu items during his flight—which included dog.

Yang also ate more mundane foods, like chicken and fish. And some less common choices including hairy crab and duck neck.

Regarding the eating of dog…animal rights activists are not amused.
